Operation Christmas Child

November 16 - 23, 2009

One of the highlights of the year for us is participating as an official Relay Collection Center for Operation Christmas Child! We are happy to report that during the 2009 Collection Week we received 3,786 gift-filled shoeboxes that we transferred to Alexandria to be shipped to the Samaritan’s Purse processing center in Charlotte, NC!! Thank you to everyone who sent in a shoebox and to all the volunteers who helped here.

What a joy it has been to watch this project grow from collecting and distributing 28,000 shoeboxes in 1993 to collecting nearly 8 million shoeboxes in the USA and 7 other countries in 2008. Even now, in spite of the poor economy, final figures from Collection week 2009 indicate that over 8 million shoeboxes were collected worldwide.

Collection week in 2010 will be November 15 – 22. It’s never too early to start purchasing items for your boxes!!!
